COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BRAZING ALLOYS, ALUMINUM AND MAGNESIUM, FILLER METAL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference of Federal Specification QQ-B-655.
This commercial item description covers aluminum and magnesium brazing filler metal alloys having melting points above 800oF.
Salient Characteristics:
1. Brazing filler metal alloys shall be of the following classifications and forms, as specified:

2. Chemical compositions, sizes and tolerances for the forms of the brazing alloys listed above shall conform to the requirements of the American Welding Society (AWS) specification A5.8 entitled “Brazing Filler Metal.”
