will result.
This change in surface area will produce changes in weld
characteristics.
6.3.4 Replacement.
Replacement of offset electrodes should be
accomplished using a standard alignment tool to reposition the electrodes in
the welding machine.
6.4 Weld resistance.
6.4.1 Resistance weld quality.
The quality of a resistance weld, like
any type of quality weld, is the result of the investigation and selection of
various factors during the welding operation.
These factors (or variables) in
resistance welding are:
a.
Composition and configuration of materials to be welded
b.
Surface condition of the materials
Weld energy settings
c.
d.
Electrode pressure settings
Weld time
e.
f.
Type and configuration of electrodes.
6.5 Metrication. Metric equivalents in accordance with FED-STD-376 are
acceptable for use in this specification.
