These are the minimum and maximum averages determined by testing all specimens required from each
qualification or conformance test weld.

Yield strength shall be determined by offset method (offset = 0.2 percent).

The upper value of the yield strength may be 5,000 psi higher than the indicated value for the 3/32-inch size

At the test temperature as specified in table III, ±3 °F, the average value of 5 tests shall be equal to or greater
than the minimum average value specified. No more than two specimens may have values below the minimum
average specified, but each specimen must have a value greater than or equal to 20 ft-lbs.

Impact properties for the five specimens for each test condition shall be obtained at test temperatures as
specified in table III herein, ±3 °F. The lowest impact value thus obtained together with the highest value shall
be disregarded for this test. Two of the three remaining values shall be equal to or greater than that specified
herein. One of the three remaining values may be up to 5 ft-lbs less than that specified herein. The computed
average value of the three remaining values shall be equal to or greater than that specified herein.
