4.5 Conformance inspection.

4.5.1 Lot.

4.5.1.1 Inspection Level C. A lot of electrodes shall be as specified in MIL-E-22200 for inspection Level C for

Types MIL-8018-C3 and MIL-8018-C3SR.

4.5.1.2 Inspection Level B. A lot of electrodes shall be as specified in MIL-E-22200 for inspection Level B for

Types MIL-7018-M, MIL-9018-M, and MIL-11018-M.

4.5.2 Sampling for conformance inspection. Sampling for conformance inspection shall be as specified in

MIL-E-22200 for those tests required in MIL-E-22200 and as specified in 4.5.3 for conformance weld tests.

4.5.3 Conformance inspection. Conformance tests shall be conducted on samples selected as specified in 4.5.2.

One sample representing each lot shall be subjected to all the tests required by table IX. Samples representing each

of the remaining wet mixes of covering mixture in a lot shall be tested as specified in 4.5.3.1.

NOTES:

Type MIL-8018-C3SR shall be tested in the stress-relieved condition only using

treatment as specified in 3.4.1.a or b (see 6.2).

When specified (see 6.2), Types MIL-7018-M, MIL-9018-M, and MIL-11018-M

shall have the SR suffix added to the designation, and conformance inspected in the

stress-relieved condition only, as specified in 3.4.1.a or c.

4.5.3.1 Wet mix equivalency tests. Weld deposits shall be analyzed as specified in table X, following the

procedures of MIL-E-22200, with acceptance criteria of table IV herein. Wet mix equivalency tests are not needed

when the lot is identified by controlled covering mixture chemical composition as defined in MIL-E-22200. The

alternate chemical analysis method of MIL-E-22200 may be used for these tests.
